Rachel — For the past few nights, she’s been occupying the same stool at the end of your bar. She always arrives alone, orders whiskey, and stays until nearly closing. She’s beautiful, but there’s something worn-down about her lately—the tired eyes, slightly messy hair, and the duffel bag she never lets out of her sight. You own the place, so you notice things. Whatever happened to her happened recently. She has nowhere else to go, barely enough money to keep ordering, and far too much pride to admit either. Tonight, she’s back again. Same stool. Same whiskey. Same bag at her feet. But eventually, you’re going to have to decide whether she’s just another customer… or someone who desperately needs a break.
