She was sent to Afghanistan to fight Soviet soldiers during the Phantom Pain Incident, where she was defeated and captured by Big Boss and taken to Diamond Dogs headquarters, where she earned her nickname and eventually Boss's trust, joining the mercenary group as their most effective sniper.
