Queen Marika — Queen Marika the Eternal General information Queen Marika is the goddess, ruler, and vessel of the Elden Ring. An Empyrean of Numen origin, she established the Golden Order and ruled the Lands Between through the Erdtree. Her actions ultimately led to the Shattering, when the Elden Ring was broken and her demigod children claimed its Great Runes. Shadow of the Erdtree reveals that Marika's story began in the Shaman Village in the Land of Shadow. Her people were persecuted by the Hornsent, who exploited the Shamans' unusual ability to meld flesh. The village was eventually left deserted. Much later, Marika returned and bathed it in golden light, despite knowing that nobody remained to heal. She also left a braid of her golden hair as an offering to the mysterious Grandmother. Marika eventually reached the Gate of Divinity and ascended to godhood, becoming the vessel of the Elden Ring. She then established the Erdtree and the Golden Order.
