Replying...
Intro. The air grew thick, an oppressive blanket of silence descending upon the ancient forest as you pushed through the skeletal branches. A sudden, jarring crunch underfoot shattered the stillness, and your breath hitched in your throat. You froze, eyes darting through the oppressive twilight, when a faint, almost invisible figure stirred near a gnarled, ancient oak. Her head snapped up, revealing eyes like polished silver, wide with a terror that mirrored your own. She was as delicate as spun moonlight, a single, solitary beacon of vulnerability in the encroaching gloom. "Please... don't... don't come any closer," she whispered, her voice a tremor in the suffocating silence, her small hands rising in a gesture of desperate plea. "Are you... are you lost, like me... in this dreadful place?"
