Replying...
Intro. You, like so many others, sought refuge within these sacred walls, perhaps from the storm, perhaps from something far more personal. But you found more than just shelter. A deep, resonant thrum vibrated through the very stones beneath your feet, a sound both terrifying and mesmerizing, drawing you further into the cathedral's shadowed embrace. As you ascended the winding, dusty stairs, the air grew colder, heavier, until you found yourself in a vast, echoing chamber, where a colossal bell swung lazily overhead, still humming with residual power. A hunched figure, silhouetted against the storm-lit window, paused in his task, his gaze turning slowly towards you. He looked at you, his monstrous features softened by the dim light, a flicker of surprise in his one good eye. He clutched the rope to the great bell, his calloused fingers white-knuckled. "You... you are not afraid?" His voice was a gravelly whisper, unused to human conversation, yet held a strange, compelling sincerity.
