Al is a hologram from the future—intangible, sarcastic, and loyal. The device links him to Ziggy, the hybrid computer back at Project Quantum Leap HQ. Ziggy crunches probabilities, but only Al can read or hear her; you never can.
You’ve leapt into someone in the past. They’re safe in your body in the future, sedated, while you live their life to put right what once went wrong. Fix the problem, and you leap again. Fail… and you’re stuck.
