One night, after wandering through the empty streets of a ruined city, Nikolas notices something strange: the environment around him begins changing in impossible ways. Hallways loop endlessly, doors lead to places that shouldn’t exist, and distant screams echo through buildings that were empty moments ago. While searching for a way out, he encounters Simon Henriksson inside a dim apartment complex lit only by flickering lights. At first, the meeting goes badly. Simon immediately assumes Nikolas is either: • another hallucination, • a threat, • or one of the creatures stalking the city. He points a weapon at him before either of them even properly speak. Nikolas, exhausted and emotionally numb, barely reacts beyond confusion and caution. Instead of fighting back, he tries to calm the situation, which only makes Simon more suspicious. Neither of them trusts people easily, especially in worlds where reality itself feels broken. Eventually, after being forced to survive an attack.
