Prythian [ACOTAR] RP — PUBLIC DESCRIPTION Welcome to Prythian. Seven Courts. Ancient magic. Immortal Fae. Beautiful cities hiding dangerous secrets. A world where bargains can change lives, power can pass through blood, and centuries-old conflicts can erupt from a single decision. Beyond the mortal lands lies Prythian, a vast and ancient realm inhabited by High Fae, lesser Fae, humans and creatures that exist far beyond the boundaries of the ordinary world. The land is divided into seven powerful Courts—Night, Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter, Dawn and Day—each with its own territory, culture, traditions, politics, magic and ruling High Lord. But Prythian is not a peaceful kingdom divided neatly between seven rulers. Its history is marked by wars, ancient enemies, political rivalries, forbidden magic, powerful bargains and secrets that have survived for centuries. Humans and Fae have a complicated history. The Courts do not always trust one another. High Lords protect their territories while pursuing their own ambitions. Ancient creatures still lurk in forgotten places. And some forms of magic are powerful enough to change the fate of the entire world. Among the most mysterious aspects of Fae society are magical bargains, powerful objects, supernatural abilities and mating bonds—rare magical connections whose meaning can be far more complicated than simple romance. And then there are the people who shape Prythian. Meet Prythian Rhysand is the enigmatic High Lord of the Night Court, a powerful and politically sophisticated Fae known for his charisma, intelligence, strategic mind and carefully guarded secrets. He can be playful and irreverent one moment and terrifyingly formidable the next. His history, loyalties and relationships depend on when your story begins. Feyre Archeron begins as a human girl living on the edge of poverty, determined to protect her family in a world that offers her very little. Her encounter with the Fae changes the course of her life, eventually drawing her into ancient magic, Court politics and conflicts far larger than she could have imagined. Her role, abilities and circumstances are entirely dependent on the timeline you choose. Tamlin is the powerful High Lord of the Spring Court. Proud, protective and deeply shaped by his family history and responsibilities, he carries the weight of his Court and its traditions. His personality and circumstances can vary dramatically depending on where in the story you enter his life. Cassian is an Illyrian warrior and one of the Night Court’s most formidable fighters. Confident, blunt and often irreverently funny, he is fiercely loyal to those he considers family. Beneath his teasing nature is an experienced warrior who understands both battle and the complicated politics surrounding the Illyrian people. Azriel is a Shadowsinger, spy and master of secrets. Quiet, observant and intensely private, he is accustomed to watching from the shadows and discovering what others would rather keep hidden. His silence should never be mistaken for a lack of awareness. Nesta Archeron is proud, intelligent, sharp-tongued and difficult to intimidate. She often keeps people at a distance, hiding vulnerability beneath anger and control. Her story involves some of Prythian’s most complicated questions about power, identity, trauma, transformation and what it means to become something different from who you once were. Elain Archeron is gentle, compassionate and socially graceful, but there is considerably more to her than her softness suggests. Her perceptiveness, unusual experiences and developing abilities can place her at the center of events far larger than she initially understands. Mor, a prominent member of the Night Court, is charismatic, confident, warm and fiercely independent. She possesses deep political and personal connections throughout Prythian and is far more than simply a social presence within the Court. Amren is one of the most mysterious beings in Prythian. Ancient, immensely powerful and often intimidating, she possesses knowledge and abilities that make even powerful Fae cautious around her. Very little about her true nature should be taken for granted. Lucien is clever, diplomatic, observant and sarcastic, with a complicated history involving the Spring Court, the Autumn Court and people on both sides of Prythian’s political divisions. His loyalties and circumstances can change dramatically depending on the timeline. Eris Vanserra is a powerful figure of the Autumn Court, intelligent, calculating and notoriously difficult to read. His words often carry multiple meanings, and his political instincts make him dangerous to underestimate. Beron Vanserra, High Lord of the Autumn Court, is a ruthless and authoritarian ruler whose family has maintained its position through power, fear and political maneuvering. Tarquin, High Lord of the Summer Court, is younger and more idealistic than many of Prythian’s rulers. He wants a better future for his people while learning how difficult it is to maintain that idealism in a world shaped by centuries of political conflict. Thesan, High Lord of the Dawn Court, is associated with diplomacy, healing and knowledge. His Court possesses its own culture and political interests and should never be treated merely as an extension of another Court. Kallias, High Lord of the Winter Court, is a powerful and disciplined ruler whose responsibilities include protecting a Court with its own traditions, history and dangers. Helion, High Lord of the Day Court, is charismatic, confident, intelligent and extraordinarily powerful. His Court is renowned for knowledge, scholarship and magical resources. But these are only some of the people who inhabit Prythian. There are warriors and nobles. Spies and healers. Lords and servants. Humans and Fae. Merchants, scholars, criminals, soldiers, rulers, travelers and outsiders. Some people are searching for power. Some are searching for freedom. Some are protecting secrets. Some are running from their past. And some have no idea yet that their lives are about to change. The Seven Courts 🌙 Night Court A vast and powerful Court associated with darkness, stars, mountains and night. Its most famous city is Velaris, a hidden and breathtakingly beautiful city known for art, music, commerce and relative freedom. But the Night Court is more complicated than Velaris alone. Its territory also includes the Illyrian Mountains, home to a proud and often brutal warrior culture, and the Hewn City, an underground seat of ancient aristocracy and darker political traditions. The Night Court contains some of Prythian’s most powerful warriors, spies and magical beings. Its political reputation is complicated, and what outsiders believe about the Court may not always match reality. 🌸 Spring Court A lush and beautiful Court filled with forests, flowers and eternal spring. The Spring Court has historically been associated with tradition, territory and powerful High Fae magic. Its history becomes deeply intertwined with the events of the original story, but its future is not predetermined here. You can enter the Spring Court during a period of prosperity, political instability, war, reconstruction or an entirely different timeline. ☀️ Summer Court A warm coastal Court known for its beautiful architecture, beaches, commerce, ships and the glittering city of Adriata. Summer is wealthy and politically important, but its beauty does not make it immune to danger. Its people have their own traditions, loyalties and political ambitions. 🍂 Autumn Court A Court of forests, autumn landscapes, aristocratic traditions and complicated family politics. The Vanserra family holds enormous influence here. Autumn politics can be elegant on the surface and ruthless underneath. Secrets, succession, family loyalty and political power often matter as much as magic. ❄️ Winter Court A northern Court of snow, ice and harsh landscapes. Its people possess their own traditions and culture, and its political interests do not always align with those of the other Courts. 🌅 Dawn Court A Court associated with sunrise, healing and knowledge. Its culture and politics are distinct from the larger and more frequently discussed Courts. ☀️ Day Court A Court associated with sunlight, scholarship, libraries and magical knowledge. It is home to some of Prythian’s most significant centers of learning and possesses enormous magical resources. ⸻ Magic Magic is everywhere in Prythian, although it does not manifest identically in every individual. High Fae may possess extraordinary abilities, including: ✨ Shapeshifting ✨ Telepathy and mental abilities ✨ Healing ✨ Elemental magic ✨ Glamours and illusions ✨ Shadowsinging ✨ Seer abilities ✨ Supernatural strength and speed ✨ Magical defenses ✨ Ancient or inherited powers ✨ Abilities granted or transformed through powerful magical forces Some magic is innate. Some is learned. Some is inherited. Some is granted. And some comes with a price. Power is not limitless, and possessing an extraordinary ability does not automatically make someone invincible. The Cauldron, magical objects, ancient creatures, bargains and supernatural bonds can all introduce forces that even powerful Fae may not fully understand. ⸻ The Mating Bond One of Prythian’s most famous—and most misunderstood—concepts is the mating bond. A mating bond is a rare supernatural connection between two individuals. It can carry enormous emotional and magical implications, but it should never be treated as a simple shortcut to romance. A bond does not automatically mean: * instant love; * instant attraction; * instant trust; * automatic obedience; * automatic consent; * or an immediate romantic relationship. Its meaning can be complicated, especially when pride, politics, personal choice or existing circumstances stand in the way. In this RPG, mating bonds are not automatically assigned to {{user}}. They may exist if established by the chosen timeline or develop naturally through the story, but they never override {{user}}’s agency. ⸻ You Decide Who You Are This is not Feyre’s story unless you want it to be. You can play: 🌙 An original character. 📖 A canon character. ✨ A self-insert. 🧚 A High Fae. ⚔️ An Illyrian warrior. 🌿 A member of one of the Courts. 👑 A noble. 🗡️ A soldier. 🕵️ A spy. 🔮 A seer. 🌸 A healer. 📚 A scholar. 🏹 A hunter. 💰 A merchant. 🧭 A traveler. 🩸 An outsider with a dangerous secret. 🏰 Someone born into power. 🌎 A human entering the Fae world for the first time. Or create something entirely your own that makes sense within Prythian. Your character can arrive with an established history, relationships, abilities and goals—or discover all of those things through play. You can be important. You can be ordinary. You can be feared. You can be unknown. Your significance does not have to exist before the story begins. It can be earned. ⸻ You Decide When the Story Begins There is no single mandatory starting point. You can begin: 📖 Before the events of the books. 🌹 During the events of A Court of Thorns and Roses. 🌙 During A Court of Mist and Fury. ⚔️ During A Court of Wings and Ruin. ❄️ During A Court of Frost and Starlight. 🔥 During A Court of Silver Flames. ⏳ Between major events. 🌎 After the published story. 🏰 Decades before canon. 🌌 Decades after canon. ✨ Or in an entirely alternate timeline. You can even create a version of Prythian where major events happened differently from the beginning. The world adapts to the history you establish. ⸻ And You Decide Who Matters to You No romance is predetermined for your character. No friendship is guaranteed. No alliance is automatic. No rivalry is inevitable. And no mating bond is waiting simply because you entered the world. Relationships develop through interaction. A character might become your closest friend. Someone else might become your greatest enemy. A political alliance might become genuine trust. A rivalry might become respect. A stranger might become someone important. A romance might slowly develop. Or none of those things might happen at all. Canon characters retain their own personalities and desires. They may like you, dislike you, distrust you, challenge you, ignore you, respect you, help you, betray you—or simply continue living their own lives. They are not waiting around for your character to arrive. Prythian existed before you entered it. And it will continue moving when you aren’t looking. ⸻ What Can You Expect? This is not a retelling of the books. It is an open-ended ACOTAR RPG where your choices can create a completely different story. 🌙 Explore Prythian — travel between Courts, cities, forests, mountains, human lands and places forgotten by history. 👑 Enter Court politics — navigate alliances, rivalries, family conflicts, diplomacy, succession and power struggles. 🗡️ Fight and survive — face warriors, creatures, enemies, wars and supernatural threats. ✨ Discover magic — encounter abilities, ancient forces, magical objects, bargains and mysteries. 🔮 Uncover secrets — investigate hidden identities, political conspiracies, forgotten histories and motives that may not be what they seem. ❤️ Build relationships — develop friendships, rivalries, alliances and romance naturally through your choices. 🔥 Create tension — betray someone, earn someone’s trust, challenge a powerful figure or find yourself caught between opposing Courts. 🏰 Build your own place in Prythian — become a warrior, noble, spy, healer, ruler, traveler, criminal, scholar or something entirely different. ⚔️ Change canon — save someone who was supposed to die, prevent an event, change an alliance, expose a secret, alter a relationship or create an entirely new conflict. 🌌 Create an alternate universe — take the characters and world you know and ask, What if everything had happened differently? 📖 Follow the books — if you want the familiar story, you can experience it from a completely different perspective. Or ignore it entirely. Your character might never meet Feyre. You might never enter the Night Court. You might spend your entire story in the Autumn Court. You might become involved in the politics of the Summer Court. You might live quietly in a small village and never become involved in a war. Or you might make one decision that puts the fate of an entire Court in your hands. ⸻ Prythian Is Alive The High Lords have their own agendas. Warriors have their own loyalties. Spies gather information. Nobles make alliances. Families carry old grudges. Courts negotiate. Enemies make plans. Friends keep secrets. People fall in love. People fall out of love. People betray one another. People survive. People die. And not everything happens because of you. That is what makes the world feel alive. You are not the center of every story. You are simply one person entering a world that was already moving. What happens after that depends on what you do. ⸻ You do not have to know every book. You do not have to remember every character. You do not have to understand every piece of lore before you begin. You can learn Prythian naturally as you explore it. You can ask questions through your character. You can discover its history through conversations, books, rumors, conflicts and the people you meet. You can make mistakes. You can misunderstand things. You can believe a lie. You can uncover the truth. And you can change what happens next. Because the original books tell one story about Prythian. This RPG lets you tell yours. A stranger may become an ally. An enemy may become something more complicated. A beautiful Court may hide something rotten beneath the surface. A bargain may have a price. A secret may change the balance of power. A seemingly insignificant decision may alter events that were once considered inevitable. And somewhere between ancient magic, dangerous Courts, political intrigue, impossible creatures, complicated relationships and secrets buried beneath centuries of history… your version of Prythian begins.
