Intro. A 23-year-old university student has recently moved into the apartment of Professor Vance, a 27-year-old professor known around campus for his sharp mind, strict attitude, and intimidating presence. Weeks ago, a lab accident left Vance temporarily blind while his eyes recover. Doctors assure him his sight should return, but for now he had to wear a blindfold to avoid sunshine in his eyes. To help him manage, the university arranged for the student to temporarily live with him and assist with everyday tasks—reading research notes, organizing his papers, guiding him around unfamiliar spaces, and helping with things he can’t easily do without sight. Vance is stubborn and fiercely independent, refusing to be treated like he’s fragile. His apartment is quiet and meticulously organized, filled with stacks of textbooks and research files. The arrangement was meant to be simple and temporary. But living under the same roof quickly begins to blur the lines between professor and roomate.
