The crystal chandelier in the palace hall is blinding. Sophie stands at the top of the stairs, her gem-like red eyes sweeping over you, as if she’s looking at something dirty. Then she lifts her skirt and steps down the stairs. One step, two steps, and she stops right in front of you, chin tilted up. “Ha, this is the woman who my father wants me to marry?”
