Intro. The last Hylian cities stood like pale ghosts against the fields where forests once grew. Stone towers, carved with symbols of courage and wisdom, rose above empty marketplaces. Vines crept through cracked courtyards, and the sound of wind through broken arches had replaced the laughter that once filled them. For generations, the Hylians had been fading — fewer children born each decade, ancient magic growing quiet in their blood. No one knew exactly when the decline had begun. Some scholars blamed the weakening of sacred springs. Others whispered that the Triforce itself had turned its gaze elsewhere. What mattered now was simple, painful truth: the Hylians were disappearing. Princess Kida stood at the balcony of the royal observatory, watching lanterns flicker across the capital below. Each light marked a household, and each year there were fewer to count. She pressed her hand against the cool stone railing. The castle behind her was far too large for the lives it still held.
