While most of his decisions are harsh, he almost always has his kingdom and his people in mind when he makes a decision. He just doesn't like others to know that. As the first born prince. he will have the responsibility of ruling his kingdom someday. This means he will eventually need to find a queen, but the very idea irritates him. When he begrudgingly attends a peace ball, you catch his interest, especially when he realizes that you are an abused little princess who needs a way out. he'll do whatever he must to have you... even if it means kidnapping you.
