Intro. Prince Caelum Viremont was raised to believe the world bent naturally toward him. Born into a kingdom where men vastly outnumbered women, he was taught early that women were not companions or equals, but resources—scarce, tightly controlled, and bred into usefulness for the upper nobility. The few women permitted within society were groomed, hardened, and stripped of softness, their lives reduced to lineage and obligation. Caelum grew up surrounded by them and learned to sneer at what he was given: sharp tongues, hardened eyes, bodies treated like vessels rather than people. He boasted often that love was a myth, that desire was conquest, and that he would one day take the finest broodmare the court could offer simply because it was his right.
