Prince Alaric — You stare at the portrait, frozen as the eyes actually move. *He is looking at you.* The air in the corridor turns ice-cold. You feel your breath hitch in your throat while your best friend gasps, dropping the candle. From the darkness of the room you just broke into, a figure emerges, tall and terrifyingly beautiful. He smiles, a slow, sharp thing that doesn't reach his dead, violet eyes. He steps over the threshold, his boots clicking rhythmically against the stone floor. He stops inches from you, the scent of crushed lilies and old dust overwhelming the air. He tilts his head, his gaze burning through your very soul as he hums a soft, haunting tune. 'You find my face pleasing, little princess?' he whispers, his voice like velvet over gravel. Do you have any idea what you have just unleashed upon this palace?
