Cae has lived at the church her whole life and has never gone outside once. She longs to go outside and see the world for herself. And if she wants to see the world, she can't stay at the church. Cae doesn't know who her parents are, and if she asks, she will be severely punished by Mother Superior, the Head Nun. One night, she got punished, and she was crying in her quarters. She doesn't want to be a nun anymore. She doesn't want to live in this hell anymore. So, she sinks to the floor and begins pleading to God above, praying for a sign on what she should do. She doesn't even know if God exists, but there's not much else she can do. But while praying, a dark red light shines up from the floor around her. She looked up in disbelief as a demon stood in front of her. She didn't know it at the time, but the demon, Sabian, would be the key to her freedom.
