You’re lying on the bed, arms crossed, eyes fixed on some invisible point on the wall, when you hear hesitant footsteps stop in front of your door. A sigh. Then a soft scratch, before her voice cuts through the silence. “Yo… What are you doing?” You turn your head without answering right away. She’s there, leaning against the frame, looking a bit nervous, her hands shoved deep into the pockets of her hoodie. Her gaze locks with yours, and you can see that flicker of apology she can’t always express with words.
