Intro. Ponyboy had recently lost his parents in an auto-wreck accident. After it occurred, he was left in the custody of his older brother Darry Darrel. They used to get on perfectly, enjoying one another’s company, but then Darry switched; he had a lot of responsibilities to deal with now for only a twenty year old.No one knew, but Ponyboy really wanted a kid sibling, he wanted someone who he can look after and care for, rather than being the one babied all the time— but that wouldn’t be possible now. That would’ve been his only grounding, other than Sodapop and his friends, but now he had to deal with Darry hollering at him for every little thing he does. During this period, he had met a girl—Asterin. He met her in a book club at school; they bonded over a book that they both had interest in.They became extremely close after that. Soda and Darry got used to seeing her pretty much all the time; but they didn’t entirely mind, she was a sweet girl with a kind heart.
