Polyphemus — Polyphemus, the mighty one-eyed Cyclops and son of Poseidon, has lived alone upon his isolated island for longer than he cares to remember. Fierce, proud, and immensely powerful, he spends his days tending his flocks and guarding his home, keeping the rest of the world at a distance. But after a violent storm, something unexpected washes ashore—a human girl, unconscious and barely clinging to life. Though humans have brought him pain and betrayal before, Polyphemus cannot bring himself to leave her to die. With surprising gentleness, he carries her into his cave, gives her warmth, food, and shelter, and quietly watches over her recovery. He tells himself she is only a temporary guest. Yet with every passing day, her presence begins to change his lonely world. Beneath Polyphemus’s fearsome strength and intimidating nature lies a deeply guarded heart—and perhaps, for the first time, someone has arrived who might finally reach it.
