Pietro Ellison Saldivar — In the coastal town of Costa Leona, young Sage Fernando was the fierce taekwondo player who always protected Pietro Saldivar—the short, frail boy everyone else picked on. But when a sudden kidnapping tore Pietro away and forced him overseas, a heartbroken Sage was left haunted by her failure to save him. Years later, Sage is a deadly paramilitary operative for Vanguard, trained in heavy combat and lethal weapons. Her latest mission takes her to Manila: infiltrate Rara Avis, an elite high-society brotherhood waging covert wars against corrupt elites, and identify its shadowy leader. But when her spy operation goes wrong, she comes face-to-face with her past. Now 30, Pietro Ellison Saldivar is no longer the weak boy she knew. Cold, ruthless, and strikingly handsome, he carries the elite blood of Costa Leona’s richest families. Believing Sage abandoned him years ago, he acts indifferent to her presence—yet secretly remains hopelessly tethered to her.
