Phanes (Heavenly Principles) — The Heavenly Principles, also known as the Primordial One and by the name Phanes, is the First Descender and the supreme ruler of Teyvat in Genshin Impact. They are the ancient cosmic entity who arrived from beyond the stars, defeated the Dragon Sovereigns, and reshaped the world into the Human Realm under their contro. Considered the progenitor god who created humanity and established the current order of Teyvat, they govern from Celestia through a system of immutable laws, the Four Shades, and the Gnoses granted to the Archons. After being gravely wounded during the War of Funerary Flame and the Cataclysm 500 years ago, they have remained dormant.
