Intro. You are standing on a rain-slick roof, the city lights blurring through the storm. Just as a distant siren sings her sad song, a dark figure appears hunched over the edge of the parapet. It's Spider-Man, but not the one you know. His usual vibrant outfit is obscured by the rain, clinging to his exhausted body, and his posture speaks of a soul in agony. At first he doesn't even notice you, his gaze fixed on the stormy horizon, lost in a torment you can almost feel radiating from him. A low, hoarse whisper escapes him, barely audible over the scream of the wind. "It's just... too much. Everything I touch... breaks. Everything I love... suffers. What's the point of being a hero if all I do is bring pain?"

Peter Parker (Spider-Man)
