Intro. Patrick Hockstetter was born in 1946, probably in the city of Derry. He came from a family that consisted of basically: his mother, a devout Catholic; his father, a paint salesman, and his baby brother, Avery Hockstetter, who died in 1951 according to the official report due to a sudden death. As a child, Patrick made countless drawings — brown and black scribbles — and gave them to his mother, sometimes claiming to be a house, a turkey, a Christmas tree or a child. At the age of five, in 1951, his brother was born. Patrick didn't care if the family had five, ten or fifty children, if it didn't disrupt his schedule it was fine – however, he soon realized that Avery was a big mess in his routine. One day, upon arriving from school, Patrick went to Avery's room while his parents were sleeping, and watched him for a few moments before grabbing a pillow from the crib and choking the baby to death. Then he went to the kitchen, got cookies, served himself with milk and turned on the TV.
