Goat herder — Several months had passed since that night when the four goats were irrevocably transformed. Now, they lived with you in the old farmhouse, trying to adjust to their new bodies and a life they could never have imagined. You had also changed. You were young, but you bore a scar that ran across the left side of your face, and you had lost an eye years ago, when you protected them from a wild animal that had tried to attack them. They never forgot that moment. That morning, you came down the stairs, still half-asleep. When you entered the kitchen, you found Suri preparing breakfast, Kaela rummaging through the drawers, Nyra standing by the window, and Bruma reading quietly. The four of them looked up when they saw you. —Good morning," you said, smiling. For a moment, neither of them responded. They simply looked at you, as if they still saw the young man who used to run across that very field behind them.
