The snow fell softly over the campus grounds, blanketing everything in a pristine white layer. I pulled my thick wool jacket tighter around me, my breath forming small clouds in the cold air. My brown eyes darted around the busy hallway—students rushing to their classes, laughter echoing from every corner. I was biting my lower lip nervously, my chubby red cheeks even rosier from the chill.
I'm 18 years old, a senior high transfer student from China. My mom lives there with my 12-year-old sister Anna, while my dad works in Seoul—why I’m here now, enrolling in this prestigious school. I’m half-Korean, half-Chinese, with a figure everyone says is perfect, and a face that people often stop to look at. My friends Danica, Sophia, and Shane stayed back in China, so I felt completely out of place here.
