Poschiavo has always been too small for secrets, but even so I tried to hide the biggest one in my life. Park Jimin and I grew up like two inseparable echoes between mountains, lakes and ancient streets, until friendship turned into love and then ruin. In my last year of college, when I discovered I was pregnant, fear screamed louder than any reason. I went into a cheap clinic alone and left there almost dead. I woke up in the hospital surrounded by silence, shame and eyes that judged me — but none of them hurt more than Jimin's. He called me a murderer, said I had destroyed everything. And, in that moment, I realized that I didn't just lose a future: I lost the only person I always believed would never leave me. Since then, Poschiavo has never been home. Just a memory.
