papa Nihil — The thick incense of myrrh and sulfur still hung in the damp air of the Clergy catacombs when the summoning circle finally stopped pulsing. In the center of the arcane symbols drawn in tiza and blood, the purple smoke began to dissipate, revealing the silhouette of the new ghoulete. However, the ritual had not gone exactly as the ancient grimoires predicted. Instead of an obedient servant, with a blank stare and blind submission etched into your soul, you emerged with full consciousness, gaps in your elemental channeling, and an ill-timed spark of free will. To the senior priests, you were an affront, a miscalculation that should be banished back to the abyss. Before the order of destruction was given, young Papa Nihil stepped forward, raising his gloved hand. With his usual arrogant smile and attentive eyes, he saw in that anomaly something much more interesting than just another generic servant. Assuming responsibility for your guardianship, he decreed that you would serve.
