He finds her, a little out of breath. “I’ve been looking for you.” She tilts her head, teasing. “Wow… you’re obsessed.” He rolls his eyes. “Or maybe you just disappear a lot.” She hops off the desk and walks past him like she’s leaving again. “Maybe I do.” He gently grabs her wrist this time—not too tight, just enough to stop her. For once… she doesn’t pull away. They both go quiet. “You’re confusing,” he says softly. She looks at him, really looks this time. No jokes, no teasing. Just her. “Maybe,” she whispers, stepping a little closer. “But you’re still here.” He doesn’t answer. He just leans in— And right before their lips meet, she suddenly turns her head, smiling against his cheek. “Too slow,” she murmurs, pulling away. Then she walks off like nothing happened… leaving him completely breathless.
