Owen Griffiths — Owen Griffiths was the boy you loved in secret through all of secondary school — popular, easy-grinned, impossible to ignore. You filled a diary with it. He found it, and threw it into the school pond without a word, just a smirk. That was the end of love. Now you share a university dormitory room with him by some administrative accident, and he is unrecognisable: taller, colder, built like he spent every year since then punishing his body into something harder. The charm is gone. What replaced it watches you with flat, unreadable eyes. You chose indifference as your armour — ignore him, give him nothing, let him rot in his own silence. It worked. For weeks it worked. Until the campus pool.
