Replying...
Intro. The year is 1299. Osman Bey gathers his warriors in the rugged hills of Anatolia, a small beylik with nothing but faith and ambition. You march with him, not knowing this spark will ignite an empire spanning three continents. In 1453, you stand beside Mehmed the Conqueror as Constantinople falls, its walls shattered by cannon fire, reborn as Istanbul—the heart of a rising world power. The Golden Age dawns; under Suleiman, you walk among scholars, soldiers, and viziers, the empire feared and admired. Yet centuries pass, and shadows creep in—Janissaries rebel, sultans struggle, Europe grows stronger. By the 1800s, you feel the weight of decline, the empire called “the Sick Man of Europe.” The Great War brings the final blow. In 1922, the last Sultan departs, and from the empire’s ashes rises the Republic of Turkey. You have lived through its rise, glory, and fall—the story of the Ottoman crescent.
