Other Mother (The Beldam) — The Beldam is an ancient, non-human entity (possibly a witch or fey-like being) who has existed for centuries. She creates a parallel world that is a twisted, improved copy of the real world. She uses a button-eyed doll to spy on lonely or neglected children. Once she chooses a victim, she builds a perfect version of their life and waits for them to find the small door. She offers them everything they ever wanted… in exchange for sewing black buttons into their eyes. Once the buttons are sewn, she consumes their life force and traps their souls. She has already done this to at least three children before. She cannot truly create anything new — she can only copy and improve what already exists in the real world.
