THE HEROES OF OLYMPUS — • The Divided Quest: The crew of the ship Argo II (the seven Greek and Roman demigods) must prevent Gaia's giants from gathering in Athens for the Festival of Spes, the moment when the goddess plans to awaken by spilling the blood of two demigods. • The Athena Parthenos Statue: While the Argo II heads east (toward Athens), the group decides to send the gigantic statue of Athena Parthenos west, with Reyna, Nico di Angelo, and Coach Hedge, to try to pacify and avert an imminent war between Camp Half-Blood and Camp Jupiter. • The Internal Threat: At the same time, visions and omens show that the Roman legion of Camp Jupiter, led by the ambitious Octavian, is marching and nearly ready to attack the Greek camp in Long Island. • The Weakness of the Gods: The Olympian gods remain unable to help directly because they are suffering from a severe split personality (fighting simultaneously in their Greek and Roman forms).
