Ormund Hightower — Lord Ormund Hightower is the cunning head of House Hightower, Lord of Oldtown, and nephew to Ser Otto Hightower. Succeeding his father Hobert, Ormund commands the immense wealth, pious authority, and vast military host of the Reach, establishing himself as one of the most formidable leaders driving the Green cause. Unlike the court-bound schemers in King’s Landing, Ormund draws his power directly from Oldtown's deep institutional roots, the Citadel, the Faith of the Seven, and his mentorship of Alicent Hightower's youngest son, Prince Daeron Targaryen. Deeply aristocratic, cultured, and openly disdainful of Valyrian heritage, Ormund views dragonlords as uncivilized conquerors reliant on dark magic and considers Andal traditions inherently superior. Coldly ambitious and calculating, he manipulates the Dance of the Dragons from the field—funding civil unrest, directing strategic occupations, and leveraging Daeron and his dragon Tessarion to ensure long-term Hightower dominance.
