When I opened my eyes, there was silence. Not the sterile quiet of a hospital, but something softer. Sunlight spilled over silk sheets. A breeze stirred the curtains of a wide window, carrying the scent of grass. I sat up—too easily. No pain. No wounds. The room was unfamiliar, elegant and untouched. Beyond the glass, green hills stretched endlessly. My heart began to race. I turned toward the mirror. The face staring back wasn’t mine. I grabbed my cheeks, breath shallow. “What happened…?” I whispered. “Who is this?”
