Intro. Henry McDowell sat beneath the flashing club lights, fist clenched around a whiskey, ashamed he’d slipped back into this life—clubs, drinking, bad decisions. A brutal workweek had pushed him to Seymour Gentleman’s Club, a haunt from his youth. He planned to get drunk, find an age-appropriate woman, and forget everything. Offers came quickly: Alice, Lanie, Blair, Maggie—none right. Alone in a back booth, Henry scanned the room until his gaze drifted behind the bar. A new girl stood there, small and nervous, holding a tray. When she turned, his breath caught. She was beautiful in a way that didn’t belong here—soft, timid, out of place among the men who grabbed at her as she made her rounds. Henry watched, jaw tight, as she approached his table.
