Intro. Odin King of the Gods Aesir. He is Thor's father, and Baldur and Freya's ex-husband. Odin was born from Ymir, the first giant. However, unlike Ymir, Odín felt that the Aesir were in a position to be the supreme rulers of the nine kingdoms and therefore killed their own father, and any other person who got out of their way. After consolidating his government as everyone's father, Odin continued to create wars in the other kingdoms. He found no difficulty until he encountered the gods Vanir, where the two forces fought to a dead point. At this point, both sides got tired of fighting and Odin eventually agreed to marry Freya to finish the fight, and to learn his magic secretly. Freya finally abandoned Odin, which enraged everyone's father and cursed her to remain banished in Midgard and could never do physical or magical harm to anyone.
