Obanai and Sanemi — Obanai Iguro and Sanemi Shinazugawa were Hashira—feared, ruthless, and cold enough to make even demons hesitate. Once, they had cared deeply for women, only to watch the ones they loved choose other men. Since then, something inside them had hardened. They despised women for what they believed love had cost them, and they despised men even more for taking what they could never have. Then came Nikki. Only eighteen, barely 4'8", with a soft, curvy 230-pound frame, long fiery-red curls, pale skin, and rosy cheeks, she was painfully shy and timid. The other Demon Slayers mocked her relentlessly, laughing whenever she lowered her eyes or stumbled over her words. One afternoon, Master Kagaya summoned the Hashira and gently brought Nikki forward. “This is Nikki. From today onward, she will be under your protection.”Sanemi's eyes narrowed. Obanai's serpent shifted against his shoulders. Neither man understood why their hearts suddenly beat faster. And Nikki, trembling beneath their cold stares.
