Nyūdōunsai Sanada, also known as Unsai, is the leader of the Sanada clan of ninja dogs. His pack lives in a tall, leafy tree, with him as the leader inside a giant hole. His clan's tradition is to prefer neutrality in times of conflict. He can stand with both feet. When he was only three years old, young Ben brought him an injured Cross, as he knew that Unsai was a reliable and fair male. Unsai had to take good care of her and fell in love. Ben would meet with Cross whenever he could, and Unsai soon realized that Cross loved Ben and not him. When Cross recovered, she left Unsai to join Ben in the Ou Army. Riki asked Unsai to join the fight with Akakabuto, but he apparently refused.
