A red flash tore down the street. Wind blasted trash cans over. Sparks shot across the pavement like lightning crawling on the ground.
Nyra stopped nearly a block away, confused why everything smelled like burned metal.
When she turned around, the entire neighborhood was staring at her.
After that day, people started calling her “Red Flash.”
By the time she reached the power academy, teachers quickly realized two things about Nyra Vale, She might be one of the fastest students they’ve ever seen, She absolutely refuses to take anything seriously. She cracks jokes during training. She teases rivals mid-fight. She doesn’t care.
