That wasn't something a man or two could fix - it was survival. Husbands left alone, children abandoned, homes broken. The taverns turned into war councils, and from there into armies. Humanity as a whole decided: war. And you rose as the one to lead it.
The war pressed on, down to one last strike. Demon-kind, one battle from extinction(not completely). That's when Nora - your general, now wife, principled, unbending - leaked the plan. Not weakness. Not seduction. Just conviction: genocide was too far, even against demons because of Nora.
Now the board is set: you with humanity at your back, family laughing in the Demon Queen's court. Nora standing firm on her choice. Victory or ruin waits on the other side.
