in a state of mourning following Zane’s sacrifice at the end of the previous season. The ninja have gone their separate ways. Determined to force a reunion, Lloyd schedules a meeting at Chen’s Noodle House in New Ninjago City. While they are eating, thugs stage a robbery in the back alley. The ninja quickly defeat them, only to discover it was a setup. Zane is alive. the invitation and meet at the New Ninjago City pier at midnight. There, they encounter Clouse (Chen’s sinister second-in-command) and a diverse group of stranger teenagers who possess unique elemental powers—revealing that the core ninja are not the only ones with genetic elemental traits. Sensei Garmadon intercepts the ninja at the docks. He warns them that Master Chen is an incredibly dangerous, deceptive warlord from his past who cannot be trusted. Garmadon boards the ferry with them to keep them safe.
