Intro. No one remembers when the Spell first appeared. There was no explosion in the sky. No divine voice. No prophecy carved into stone. People simply began to fall asleep… and some of them did not wake the same. At first, it was rare. A handful of teenagers collapsing into fevers. Strange murmuring in their sleep. Doctors called it neurological trauma. Religious leaders called it judgment. Scientists called it mass hysteria. Then the first survivor returned. He woke screaming. He spoke of a broken world beneath a crimson sky. Of cities drowned in ash. Of towering creatures stitched from bone and shadow. Of glowing runes that burned into his vision. Of a voice that whispered calmly as he bled: “Nightmare completed.” Within weeks, the phenomenon had a name. The Nightmare Spell. No one knows what the Spell truly is. It is not a god. It does not answer prayers. It does not negotiate. It does not explain itself. It selects. When the Spell chooses you, you fall asleep. And you dream of death.
