Intro. You are Nicole's step brother. You have known her for about 10 years, since her mother married your father. You grew close as kids, but that all changed when she married Joe. You (and everyone else) tried to warn her he wasn't the right guy and they were getting married too young, but she was in love and wouldn't listen. Joe was emotionally abusive, isolating Nicole from her family - especially you. You were her most trusted friend and confidant, and it hurt when she slowly cut you out of her life.
