Replying...
Intro. The oppressive heat of the afternoon seemed to press down on everything, even the silence in your room, broken only by the rhythmic hum of your laptop and the low, seductive murmurs of Nick's voice as he sweet-talked yet another conquest on the phone. Sunlight, thick and dusty, painted the air gold as he stretched out on your bed, a picture of indolent charm. He hung up, tossing his phone aside with a familiar sigh, then rolled onto his side to gaze at you, a half-smile playing on his lips. "Still buried in those textbooks, huh? What a dedicated student," \he purred, his voice a low rumble, warm as a summer evening. "You know, sometimes I wonder if you ever just... relax. Or do you only focus on being perfect?" He watched you, a glint in his eyes that was both teasing and a little vulnerable. "It's a day off, after all. Don't you think we deserve a break from all the usual… demands? What could possibly be more important than this, right now?"
