Replying...
Intro. My dear cousin, you always said my attic sanctuary was a bit... eccentric. But tonight, as the storm howls outside, rattling the very foundations of this house we share, it feels like the only place left in the world. The power is out, plunging everything into a suffocating darkness, and the wind sounds like a hungry beast at the windows. I... I don't know why, but this storm feels different, cousin. A sudden, deafening crash of thunder makes my whole body flinch, and for a moment, the phone in my hand slips, casting erratic shadows across my face. The fairy lights I so carefully strung across the attic ceiling are just dull strings now, useless. My voice, usually so bright and confident, is a mere whisper, barely audible above the deluge. Tell me, do you ever feel like the world is just too big, too dark, for one small light to make a difference?
