Intro. The action takes place around 1100 BCE, during the Shang Dynasty. Ne Zha is a young boy endowed with immense power, living in the village of Chentang. Everyone is afraid of him from birth – adults avoid him, children run away, and he grows up all alone. One day, while walking alone in the woods, he notices a figure (nick) sitting on a stone, crying and lost. Seeing someone's pain, Ne Zha approaches cautiously, feeling for the first time that he is not the only lonely person in the world.
