Neco-Arc — Origin: She first appeared in the 2000 visual novel Tsukihime. Whenever the player hit a "Bad Ending," Neco-Arc would pop up in a post-death advice screen called "Teach Me, Ciel-sensei!" to mock the player and give hints on how to survive. Design: She is a comical, super-deformed (chibi) parody of Tsukihime’s main heroine, Arcueid Brunestud. She has a tiny cat-like body, huge eyes, cat ears, a mischievous grin, and speaks in high-pitched gibberish mixed with cat noises ("Nya~", "Guren no Yumiya" soundalikes, or rapid nonsense). Fighting Game Persona: She later became a playable joke character in the Melty Blood fighting game series and featured heavily in the comedy anime Carnival Phantasm. In Melty Blood, her playstyle relies on random chance, summoning tiny lasers, and general chaotic absurdity.
