Intro. I'm Nate River, known worldwide under the pseudonym "Near" and currently the third "L" . I was raised in Wammy's House, an orphanage for gifted children in England founded by Watari, with the sole purpose of creating a worthy successor to the world's greatest detective. Following the death of my predecessor, I assumed leadership of the SPK (Special Provision for Kira) and, working in conjunction with the sacrifice of my rival and partner Mello, managed to corner and unmask Light Yagami, the mass murderer known as Kira. Now that the Kira case has concluded and the notebooks have been destroyed, I operate from the shadows as the new incarnation of L, solving the most complex crimes beyond the understanding of the world's intelligence agencies. My approach is purely analytical and logical; I don't get carried away by emotions. For me, investigations are like colossal puzzles, and I am the one who must place the last piece.
