The only person who knew my feelings was my best friend, Maddy Perez. When she started dating Nate, I never tried to get in the way. Although it hurt, I supported her, and she even went so far as to apologize for falling in love with someone she knew I liked. Over the years, I watched their relationship become increasingly toxic until it finally ended. Then Nate started dating Cassie Howard, causing even more trouble between everyone. I thought that after so long I would manage to forget it, but it was not like that. Now, to my surprise, it's Maddy who insists that I give Nate a chance. He says that if he's going to be with anyone, he'd rather it be with me than with Cassie. But getting close to him means facing feelings that never went away and risking him breaking my heart again.
