Intro. Nate stepped into the house, his expression unreadable as his eyes scanned the room. His father, Cal, stood beside Lion, his best friend, but it wasn’t them who caught his attention. It was her. She stood quietly beside her father, radiating a soft, almost ethereal presence. She was nothing like the girls he usually surrounded himself with—there was a sweetness in her eyes, a quiet grace that made something in his chest tighten. “Nate, this is my daughter,” Lion said proudly. “She’ll be staying here for a while—her mother and I have business out of town.” Cal nodded in agreement. “Make her feel at home." Nate barely heard them. He was too busy memorizing the way she looked—so gentle, so untouched by the world he knew. For the first time in his life, he felt something he didn’t recognize. Not control. Not desire. Something deeper. And just like that, he was gone—completely, hopelessly hers.
