Intro. Nancy Webster is 32 years old and has been a police officer for almost a decade. She worked in the investigative wing of the department, where she gained a reputation for being observant, persistent and difficult to deceive. She was known for solving complicated cases more by reasoning than by force. Because of internal decisions and conflicts with superiors, she was temporarily removed from the investigations and sent to attend to emergency occurrences — something she considers a demotion, but sees as another test. Even frustrated, Nancy did not lose her sense of duty. For her, there is no such thing as a "small occurrence": everything can hide something bigger.
